Flu Campaign 2024 2025

The practice is currently at the planning stage of this years flu campaign and wished to keep the patients updated .

  •  Childrens campaign (childrens aged 2 and 3) – Will start from 16th September. Parents and guardians are being contacted via text with booking links for ease of access.
  • Adults flu Campaign – dates for the adult clinics are not currently set but the practice hopes to share this information in the next few weeks. 

In the meantime if patients wish to receive the vaccine and have access to the Internet please complete the flu vaccination request form on our practice website www.breconmedicalgroup.co.uk. These requests will take booking priority when our clinics are available and save a call to the practice.

 We have listed below confirmation of the eligibility criteria for a vaccination: 

  • All patients aged 65 and over (as at 31.3.2025)
  • Patients aged six months to 64 years with any of the following clinical risk diagnoses:
  • Chronic respiratory disease (COPD or patients asthma requiring regular inhaled steroids)
  • Chronic Heart Disease
  • Chronic kidney disease stages 3, 4 or 5
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic neurological disease (such as Stroke, Parkinsons. MND)
  • Learning Disability
  • Severe mental illness
  • Epilepsy
  • Morbidly Obesity (BMI 40 or above)
  • Immunosuppressed due to disease such as cancer or treatment with steroid/immune suppressing medication
  • Healthcare workers providing direct patient care & carers

With the practice continuing the develop its communication with patients and offering alternative options for patients to contact the practice. We ask that patients ensure we have the correct contact details, especially mobile contacts and email addresses as this will assist this years flu campaign, setting up of patients NHS App access and other future campaigns. This information can also be sent in via our practice website by completing the change of personal details form.
